The Musketeers host top level hockey players who maintain an amateur playing status while playing in Sioux City. Players range in age from 16 to 20 years of age, and come to the Siouxland Community from all parts of the United States, Canada and Europe. Billet families are an integral piece of the support system that helps host these players during not only the regular season and playoffs, but during tryout camps as well.
The Musketeers have a long list of exceptional families who have opened their homes to host hundreds of players throughout their 40+ year history. Providing a “home away from home” for a hockey player has proven to be both educational and rewarding for both the player and the host family. Players not only teach their billet families more about the game of hockey, they also bond with and become a part of their family. Many players and billet families continue that bond well after a player has advanced their playing career to the next level. “Enter as strangers, leave as family”, is one billet family’s motto. “After housing players for many years, our world has been opened to all kinds of wonderful people. We have many life-long friends all over North America and beyond as a result of our involvement as a billet parent.”

STEPS TO BECOMING A MUSKETEERS BILLET FAMILY
• A desire to support the Musketeers program!
• Demonstrate a well-balanced, family oriented lifestyle.
• The ability to provide adequate, nutritional meals for your player.
• The ability to provide a physically comfortable and mentally supportive living environment.
• Submit to a mandatory Background check on all family members.
• Host an in-home interview conducted by Musketeers staff.
• Be ready to cheer your player and your team during an exciting season of Musketeers hockey!
BILLET FAMILY BENEFITS
• A monthly stipend of $300 PER PLAYER to help offset costs
