Sioux Falls Emerges Victorious in Their Pink the Rink Tilt
Sioux Falls, SD (November 4th, 2022) - The Sioux City Musketeers defeated Sioux Falls in a close tilt on their Pink in the Rink night, this Friday it was the Sioux Falls Stampede who returned the favor on pink ice with a 4-2 victory over the Musketeers.
Sioux Falls opened up the scoring halfway through the first at the 10:07 mark of the period on Samuel Harris' ninth goal of the season to give the Stampede a 1-0 lead.
The score remained that way despite Sioux Falls out shooting Sioux City by a 15 to 7 margin.
It only took twelve seconds into the second period for the Musketeers to knot things up as Garrett Brown found Ben Poitras in front of the net for the equalizing goal and Poitras' third of the season.
At the 10:32 mark of the period Dylan Godbout gave the Musketeers for a brief moment their only lead of the game with a goal on a two on one, as he ripped a shot past Xavier Medina giving the Musketeers a 2-1 lead.
However the Stampede answered back with a pair of quick goals. At 14:07 in the period Ryan Gordon notched his fourth tally of the season to tie it. And Clint Levens found the back of the net just 1:22 later to give the Stampede a 3-2 lead at the end of two.
After a deadlocked and scoreless third period, Sioux Falls put the game away with an empty net goal from Zack Sharp to give the game its final score of 4-2.
Sioux City (4-5-2) will retake the ice in less than 24 hours back at home on Saturday night at 6:05 pm when they take on the Lincoln Stars who sit in second place in the USHL Western Conference.
